Sr. Loan Administration Specialist


PURPOSE OF JOB:  

 

The Sr. Loan Administrative Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and analytical support to portfolio management team and commercial loan participation program. The Sr. Loan Admin Specialist performs all financial tasks related to FPCU’s commercial loan portfolio. In addition, the position serves as the internal and external liaison among FPCU members, other FPCU departments, and external parties such as title, escrow, loan brokers, attorneys, and credit union partners. 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Demonstrates initiatives and abilities to research and resolve issues
  • Understands and stays abreast of changes to FPCU Policy, Procedures, NCUA, Federal and State Regulations as it pertains to Credit Unions as well as BSA laws and regulations applicable to area of responsibility. 
  • Reviews all loan packages including proper approval authority, entity documentation, promissory notes, security instruments, loan agreements, lien instruments, title commitments/real property searches, appraisals, contracts, UCC searches, insurance policies, surveys, and environmental reports.
  • Prepares covenant compliance memos and letters if needed
  • Responsible for sending out needs letters both for compliance and renewals
  • Updates database periodically and tracks exceptions on new and existing loans
  • Provide administrative support for multiple portfolio managers
  • Facilitates requests from portfolio managers related to both annual loan review and new origination loan process
  • Interacts with members or brokers for completing loan applications and follow up for additional information as needed
  • Collects and directs flow of financial reporting and loan requirements for Annual Reviews, ensuring that the Annual Review package is complete with all supporting information and documentation
  • Contributes to the portfolio review process by obtaining appropriate documentation and keeping files up to date
  • Maintains document tracking program with current financial information, ensuring that timely notifications are sent to members in preparation for Annual Reviews, External Audits and NCUA Examinations
  • Responsible to facilitate FPCU’s commercial loan participation process including but not limited to respond to participants’ request, prepare participation certificates, loan pool sale, etc.
  • Prepares monthly loan participation reports
  • Prepares periodic portfolio management reports
  • Handles members’ objections with minimum assistance
  • Takes accountability and ownership for the accuracy and quality of work
  • In a secondary capacity, provide backup for commercial loan operations 
  • Cross train with loan documentation and commercial loan operations
  • Other duties as assigned to achieve goals of the Department and Credit Union

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

 

  • Minimum of five years of commercial/business lending experiences required
  • College degree in business, finance, or related fields; or equivalent experience

  • Ability to act with minimal direction
  • Ability to multitask is a must

    3. Loan Origination System
    4. MS Word and Excel
